Solid Drawings

In these series of works, I worked to push my exploration of geometric patterning and color relationships into the third and fourth dimensions, while still employing a two-dimensional surface. These works are an amalgam of ideas based on the Platonic solids, sacred geometry, alchemy, Albrecht Dürer’s engraving Melancholia, and Sol Lewitt’s Sentences on Conceptual Art — specifically, “1. Conceptual Artists are mystics rather than rationalists. They leap to conclusions that logic cannot reach.”.
